Immediately fill the base to ensure the system doesn't tip over. You have two main options:

A: While Lifetime estimates assembly will take one to four hours, having a second person significantly speeds up the process, especially for managing the heavy pole and backboard. Plan for an afternoon, and you'll be shooting hoops by dinnertime.

This is the most critical step for structural integrity. Incorrectly joined poles will cause the hoop to wobble or sit crooked.

Bring the breakaway rim and its protective plastic guard to the front of the backboard, aligning their mounting holes with the rear bracket plate.
